About the university

The University College of Science and Technology in Khan Yunis was established in 1990 as a private institution dedicated to teaching technical sciences. The Council of Higher Education in Jerusalem assumed supervision of the college in 1994, followed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The college became a governmental institution in 1997. Since then, the college administration, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, has spared no effort to transform the college into a leading academic university in the field of technical education, serving a large segment of the Palestinian people. The college awards its graduates bachelors degrees and associate diplomas in twenty-four scientific and technical specializations within a distinguished study program, according to the credit hour system. Students study 66-75 credit hours spread over four semesters for diploma degree specializations, and eight semesters spread over four years for bachelors degree specializations, with the exception of the five-year building specialization. The credit hours for this specialization are distributed over ten semesters.
