About the university
Immediately after the end of the First World War and the restoration of Lithuanias independence, in 1920 In Kaunas (the temporary capital at that time), the Higher Technical School was established in the system of the Ministry of Transport by the resolution of the Government of Lithuania. Its purpose was to train secondary technical education specialists in construction, mechanics and electrical engineering.
