About the university
The university opened in 1984, when a branch of the Odessa Agricultural Institute was organized in the city of Mykolaiv to satisfy the great need for specialists of agricultural production, namely agronomists, zooengineers, and economists. In 1991, the university had 2232 students and 126 teachers (today there are more than 8000 students and 400 teachers) and became an institution independent of the Odessa Agricultural Institute. In 1997, the institution received the highest IV accreditation level from the State Accreditation Commission of Ukraine, and in 1999 it received the status of Academy.
